October 17 Soybean Harvest Progress

Soybean harvest continues to move at a rapid pace across the U.S. with an estimated 85% of the crop harvested based on the poll results collected from over 2,100 FBN® members this week.

Assuming this pace aligns with the pending USDA report on Monday, that would put soybean harvest well ahead of the 5-year average and equate to 40% of the U.S. soybean crop coming out over the last two weeks. Much of the northern states appear to be at or near completion with 90%+ progress reported in MN, ND, SD, NE and IA.

Possibly the smoothest harvest we’ve ever seen in central IL…could have used a gentle rain to bring moisture back up in the beans that seemed to mature overnight…. But there has been absolutely no loss to momentum, EXCELLENT conditions on the ground and many are putting a wrap on 2024 or will be doing so a solid two to three weeks ahead of schedule. Gratifying!
