As the old saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. The results of yesterday’s Soybean Planting Progress Poll show a significant increase in progress in those areas that already had a start. Meanwhile, areas like Kansas, Missouri, Southern Illinois and the Dakotas are still waiting for a chance to get going.
National progress sits at ~45%, which is 11% ahead of the USDA 5-year average and a 23% increase from the previous poll conducted on May 2.
Leading the way in progress over the last two weeks are Wisconsin with an increase of over 50% and Indiana where progress jumped to 56% overall.
