Last week, we asked farmers if they've planted or considered planting conventional corn or soybeans. Nearly 1,100 farms totalling 3,000,000 acres responded to the poll within just a few hours! 

The national data is as follows: 

  • Already Growing: 27.6%,

  • Maybe in Next 2-3 Years: 21.3%,

  • Not Considering: 51.1%.

Farmers growing or considering growing conventional corn or soybeans cited lower seed costs and access to attractive production contracts as driver behind their decisions.

Farmers who are not considering growing conventinal corn or soybeans cited weed pressure and lack of buyers in their region.
